The symphony of the sea will nudge you awake and soothe you to sleep in this cozy home only 20 feet from President’s Channel. The captivating vista beyond the windows includes the changing texture of the sea, numerous islands, boating traffic, and the
evening lights and mountains over Vancouver BC. A telescope is provided to enhance the scenery. The antics of the seals, otters, and seabirds will entertain you - Clementine, the resident seagull, frequently drops by expecting lunch. (Do plan to share.) Speaking
of critters, small dogs will be considered, but cats are never allowed as the family has severe allergies.
A special warmth of character is conveyed through the wood paneling, alcoves, and decorative articles collected during the owner’s travels. Built on three levels, there's a deck to enjoy on the waterside of each level. The entry level includes a well-equipped
kitchen with central cooking island, a dining area, guest bathroom, and living room with a wood stove (wood is provided for guest use.) A television on this level has reception limited to a few channels, so bring movies. Free WIFI is available, but a calling
card is needed for long distance phone calls.
Upstairs, a delightful queen-sized bedroom is accessorized with African pillows, rugs, and paintings. Across the hall, a sweet double-bed room faces the garden side of the home. A small third bedroom with a twin bed doubles as an office. (The printer and
fax machine are available for guest use.) A shared bathroom with a tub and hand shower services these three rooms; it’s downstairs on the main level.
The lower level is a spacious master suite with a queen bed, a window seat perfect for curling up with a book, and a private bathroom with a large tiled shower.
Location: Watermusic Cottage is conveniently located only ten minutes from the town of Friday Harbor. Larger groups may consider simultaneously renting the neighboring home, The Channel House #333.
Site Cautions: A gentle pathway leads to a picnic area at the water’s edge, but the bank is steep and the water is deep, so children under 12 are not advised. Dogs will require supervision at all times. The entry is via an exterior stairway through the garden.
